That’s the definition of collaboration according to the dictionary. So here at Platinum Creative, how do we approach collaboration? Well, you may have seen our most recent article ‘Collaboration is key for brand success’ (if you’ve not read it yet, what have you been doing?!) In that article we discuss the merits of creative collaboration between clients and agencies and how, by working together, we better results for our clients. But what about our suppliers? The industries that we, the agency, depend on? From printers to signage fitters, videographers to photographers, we work with them all and lots more in between. Collaboration between ourselves and our suppliers builds trust and for us, is a more efficient way of working.

We made a conscious decision as a small business, to stay that way. It allows us to handpick the right supplier for the right job. Each supplier brings something new and different to each project - which keeps our approach innovative and interesting. We learn a lot along the way too! From the latest paper stocks to digital advances in videography and photography, it certainly keeps us on our toes and we like to think, gives us a competitive edge.

For nearly 2 decades, we’ve taken the time to get to know our suppliers. They’ve become an extension of our team and through working with them on various assignments, we appreciate each other’s work.  It results in real cohesion and team spirit. Everyone can contribute their knowledge, talents and skills to a project.  It’s an entirely non-hierarchical environment which takes away pressure but allows knowledge sharing and the proposal of ideas.

Our commitment to customer service is one of our core values and we make sure we select suppliers that place the same values on their customers. But how else do we continue to keep collaboration with external suppliers positive and effective for both ourselves and ultimately, our clients?

We’ve said it before (a lot) and we’ll say it again, communication is everything. Good communication with suppliers results in closer relationships. It’s a two-way street so we always listen to what our suppliers have to say and what their recommendations are in order to get the right result for the customer. Collaborative working promotes communication and knowledge sharing.  All team members are on the same level, everyone can share their thoughts and there is a collective responsibility towards the client and their project.

Each and every project can have its fair share of challenges or changes. But having taken the time to select the suppliers we work with means that we can react, as a group, to those surprises and overcome them.

Additionally, it’s about sharing best practice. Collaboration results in best practice being shared throughout the supply chain. We work with suppliers who understand us and vice versa. Commitment to providing a high level of service and quality is fundamental to any project we work on.

Over the last 20 years we have taken the time to cherry pick the right suppliers for each project. For the team here at Platinum, it’s so important that we nurture those relationships as we do with our clients. We work with a range of talented suppliers including;

  • Web developers
  • Illustrators
  • Videographers
  • Photographers
  • Marketing & PR consultants

  • Signage installers

If you have a project you’d like us to work on with you, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
