Coming of age

18! That means we’re grown-ups now right? We like to think of it more that we started out as a fledgling business and we have matured and evolved over the last 18 years. It’s been a great journey so far – in fact, we still have our first client that came on board 18 years ago. We must be doing something right! 

But we know that to keep offering our clients’ the best possible creative service and solution, we need to make sure, internally, that we’re getting it right. Our name is arguably the most important component of our brand. Which is why we’ve decided to change it. 

Starting out in the world of design 25 years ago, it was a very different animal. Fast forward and it’s changed, along with most other industries, at breakneck speed. And we find ourselves at the point where we wonder if our name is sending the right message.  

Businesses often pivot to respond to market positions. While we are still in the world of design, the word ‘Graphics’ in our name doesn’t accurately reflect what we do as creatives, and we don’t want it to become a hinderance or cause confusion when meeting new clients.  

Change is hard – especially when it comes to a brand name. But, for us, it is an incredibly important step in our journey. 

So, after much discussion we’ve settled on changing 50% of our name – to Platinum Creative. The fundamental belief behind this is that it allows us to positively hold on to our past as we move towards the future.
